Sreejesh S K’s Prince Bakery
Prince Bakery will be my territory. I will wear a white and orange colored lungi interchangeably wrapping them around my butt, with a simple plain shirt on the top. I would open the shop in the morning at 6 AM. Prepare dough for some fresh buns so that I can serve it to my customers with some hot piping tea. I would try to make the inside of the bun softer and softer. One bite of bun followed by one sip of hot tea will surely wash down the bun.
I would love to work as the baker in Prince Bakery, I’d make tasty Veg Puff’with Aloo, Onion, and Capsicum filling inside with some nice Indian spices like Hing, Red Chilli, Cumin Powder and salt with some fresh coriander to give a different taste. I could never tell what difference a fresh bunch of coriander makes, but you can always feel the difference. Fill it inside the dough and put it into my large oven so it comes out a nice flakey layer by layer separating Puffs. I’ll slice them into 4 pieces, and serve them with nice sauce and chutney for the customer and kids to enjoy. Puffs are a good way to make a connection with your customers. It’s a very cheap and tasty snack you can devour with your friends after a cricket or football match.
I love bun and tea. You get a nice round beautiful-looking bun. There are two types of bun eaters, the one who takes a bit of bun first and then wash it down with teeth. The other is who breaks a piece of the bun and dips it into the tea. I’m the latter, hence, If I owned Prince Bakery, I’d always make sure my bun is softer and softer day by day. I will never charge more than 5rs for a bun. Because it has to be cheap for everyone. Kids especially in these current times are used to everything costly. My tea and bun will only cost them 15rs in total. If they want to eat a puff it will only be just 15rs overhead cost. I will not make a lot of money, but I will see happy faces eating my buns, breads, honey cakes, and puffs. Not everyone is making money with honesty in mind, but I’d always love to make small money but be honest about my values and principles.
There is a ground in front of the bakery where on Sundays, youngsters play cricket. When there’s no customer, I’ll sit at the shop and watch them play. Often people who like to smoke will come and I’ll offer them whatever cigarette I have. I think I know it’s bad for their health, but everyone chooses their own poison. I would just keep the cigarettes in the shop so they can sip some tea and take a couple of puffs inside their lungs to potentially damage their lungs but have a nice short time.
Life might not be very luxurious, but I think I would love to improve my bread, bun, and honey cakes day by day to perfection. It should be slow and steady, if there’s slow improvement customers will never notice a lot of change in the softness of the buns or the taste of the jam on top of the honey cake. The bakery will be in AECS Layout, D-Block, inside the residential area. So, no one is a competitor here because it will be my only shop in the whole colony there. I’ll always be quite in a small corner of the colony and keep working on buns and other products. I might die poor, but I will die with grief, curse, and unhappiness if I’m not doing good and honest business.
