Goodbye, FOSS United Foundation
September 12, 2023, FOSS United Foundation and I mutually decided that it was time to stop my internship and look back at all the work I’ve done, find my mistakes, and re-work my skills. I was falling short on some of the tasks I had self-assigned to myself and used to get assigned by the team which I was certainly aware of but I couldn’t complete all of them because of some personal reasons.
During this whole year, I worked as a part-timer at FOSS United Foundation and managed my academics side by side. I am happy about whatever good or bad work I did in the past 1 year, but there was always room for a lot of improvements in my work with regard to the very little experience I had.
I was very burnt out mentally and physically recently. Hence, I’m taking a break from everything for a month or so to read some old books that I bought and have half-read. I want to learn and practice “No Promises, but more work”. And most importantly, take some good and long naps to recover from 1 year of bad sleep schedule.
The Foundation and the community have done a lot for me, especially Rushabh, Vishal, Kailash, and the whole foundation team and everyone has given me a lot of good lessons. I certainly can’t name everyone. I am happily leaving the Foundation so that in the future someone more worthy can come and maybe take my place and join the FOSS Movement. I have a lot of faith in the Foundation team, and they’ll surely stay together and work harder to grow the use and creation of Free and Open Source Software in India.
In this 1 year, I had lost contact with the old introverted Mangesh. Here’s a “Hi” to him once again.
Thank You
Goodbye, FOSS United Foundation,
Mangesh
